In 1972 I spent 9 months in India and that experience made a strong and lasting impression on me. I wrote the song „India“ in 1984 in Connecticut and made a studio recording at that time. In 2014 I recorded the song again in Berlin: a pop-rock version and a dance remix, both of which can be heard below. There is also a link to the video script. Depending on the budget, this could be filmed in Germany or onsite in India using local actors.
The song is written from a dual perspective. The verse is in the third person and in a minor key, relating the somewhat melancholy journey of The Traveler in India. The chorus is in the first person and in a major key, expressing the desire of The Composer to return to India. So simply put, the verse expresses an emotional dilemma, and the chorus resolves it in musical terms. The chorus is very hopeful and uplifting.
I am seeking a sponsor(s) for this project. Someone with creativity and business acumen who can help me realize my artistic vision for this production. When finished, the song would have potential as a music video, as film music or licensing for advertising (Air India, India Tourist Board, etc.) I think the song will also resonate with Western listeners.
I look forward to your response.
